Anne Mishler was my great grandmother, my link to history. She never skimped on the details of a story, and cared so much for her children. She was a worrier, which I say with the kindest of humours in my heart. She cared for each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren- in some cases more than they did themselves. She would warn me of every danger of the world and then some. I had the privilege of spending time with her a bit before the end of her time here, and one thing was clear she wanted her children to be right with her Lord and Savior. 98 years she had lived, many things she had seen, and one thing remained the truest her love of us kids and her love of Jesus Christ was the staples of her life. She was a great wife, a great mother, and a great influence on all of us. Creating in us Mishlers and all who share in this family that we are a family that supports one another and worries *maybe a bit too much about the ones we love. She will be missed and is in her place in paradise.

Did you know?
In 1906, in the year that Anne M Mishler was born, President Theodore Roosevelt received the Nobel Prize for Peace. The award was considered controversial at the time because many thought that he was an imperialist. But he had brokered peace between Russia and Japan a year previous and had allowed a dispute between Mexico and the U.S. to go to arbitration, resolving the issue peacefully rather than resorting to military conflict. For these two reasons, the Nobel Prize committee chose him for the Peace Prize.
Did you know?
In 1910, she was merely 4 years old when Halley's comet, which returns past the earth every 75 - 76 years was observed photographically for the first time. Two fortuitous events occurred - photography had been invented since the last time the comet had passed and the comet was relatively close. There was panic because one astronomer claimed that the gas from its tail "would impregnate the atmosphere and possibly snuff out all life on the planet." People bought gas masks, "anti-comet pills" and "anti-comet umbrellas".
