In Memory of Annie A Hightower July 7, 2008 Grandmother Annie Arvelia Green was born in Stroud, Oklahoma to the union of Napolean And Gertrude Greene. Annie was one of two daughters ( my aunt Hester being the other} these women had 9 brothers 4 greens and Five Brooks. In 1940 Annie moved to St. Louis. Missouri where she attended Stowe Teachers college. Upon graduating from Stowe, Annie relocated to Vallejo California and was employed by Mare Island Naval Base where she met the love of her life, Arilee Hightower. Annie and Arilee were married on November 10 1945. She was later employed with Napa state Hospital then in January 1962 she became employed by the California school for the Deaf where she was faithful, dependable employee until her retirement in June 17, 1983. She and my grandfather celebrated fifty years of Marriage in '95 with a golden celebration. Reverend Doctor Arilee Hightower of 52 years of marriage preceded her in Death in '97. She moved into a smaller condo shortly after Ivy's Birth. She played and enjoyed Nani & Ivy as best she could. She kept communication with Rene, Kym Jackson & Joeseph. She was a strict loving grand and great-grandmother. She remains in our hearts and actions. Rest in Peace " Nanna[ what my daughter's called her]!!!
