Anthonio Quatraro was born on October 9, 1920 in Niagra Falls, New York to parents Ralph Verna Quatraro (1910-1960) and Josephine M Quatraro (1902-). He grew up in a large family with siblings including Louis, Selino, Mary, and Elaine Quatraro in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA. At the age of 21, he registered for the draft on February 16, 1942, in Brooklyn, Kings, New York. During that time, he was employed at Robins Drydock located on Beard & Dwight Streets. Anthony then enlisted in the United States Army on February 25, 1943, in New York City, New York. He joined the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers of the Army as a Private in the Selectees (Enlisted Men) category. On March 4, 1943, Anthony officially began his military service. He served diligently until his honorable discharge on December 6, 1945. His time in the Army, dedicated to the defense of his country, spanned over two years and nine months.

His terms of enlistment were "for the duration of the war or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law." On March 4, 1943, Anthony officially began his military service. He served diligently until his honorable discharge on December 6, 1945. His time in the Army, dedicated to the defense of his country, spanned over two years and nine months.
