He had siblings Margaret Louisa Mathie Campbell, Thomas William Cameron Campbell, and Colin Archibald Campbell. Archibald Campbell married Elsie Margaret Coghill in 1932, and died at age 66 years old in 1967 in Hawthorn, City of Boroondara County.

In 1901, in the year that Archibald James Miller Campbell was born, Teddy Roosevelt became the 26th President of the United States. TR, as he was known, had been Vice-President for 6 months when President William McKinley was assassinated. At age 42, he became the youngest President to serve although John Kennedy, at age 43, was the youngest President elected. He was a popular progressive and was elected to a second term in 1904 as a Republican, winning 56.4% of the popular vote and 336 electoral votes.

In 1925, when he was 24 years old, gangster Al "Scarface" Capone took over the Chicago bootlegging racket at age 26. Previously right hand man to boss Johnny Torrio, Capone took over when Torrio was shot and severely injured and decided to resign. The bootlegging and brothel organization was massive and when asked what he did, Capone often replied "I am just a businessman, giving the people what they want".
