Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Arra

Mr. Lambert was my English Literature professor at Snead Jr. College in Boaz, Alabama. I rate him as my all-time best teacher in my years of school. He loved the writings of Stephen Crane, William Faulkner and Shakespeare. He was a southerner through and through. He was my teacher in the years 1958-59. I had the pleasure of seeing him again in 1998, while doing some newspaper work in nearby Gadsden, Ala. He had aged for sure but still had his bright and intelligent eyes and his cheerful sense of humor. I will always remember him being called from his rose bushes by his lovely wife to tell him company had come to see him. He came into his elegant southern home dressed in blue jean overalls, a red checkered shirt and straw hat, his garden gloves tucked in his back pocket. He told me he remembered all us Sanford, Fl. boys. He said looking back to those years we attended Snead that he felt his test were pretty tough. I never felt that way, I just enjoyed his class I failed to notice or care how his test were written. I have photos of that day and remember them well. He was a fine man and I think all his students during his tenure would agree with me. His brother came to visit him at Snead, and if I am not mistaken his name was James Addis Lambert.
