Arthur Albert Crowe of Caulfield, City of Glen Eira County, VIC Australia was born on May 12, 1902 in Glengarry to David Miller Crowe and Millicent Martin Crowe. He had siblings Jessie Ellen Crowe, Annie Phyllis Crowe, William Edward Crowe, David Miller Crowe, Millicent Mary (Crowe) Bailey, David Lindsay Crowe, Alan Martin Crowe, Mabel Clara Crowe, John Miller Crowe, and Alfred George Crowe. He married Mabel Hannah Crocker in 1929, and had a child Dorothy Jill Crowe. Arthur Crowe died at age 51 years old on May 2, 1954 in Caulfield.

In 1902, in the year that Arthur Albert Crowe was born, the world famous Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso, made the first gramophone recording by a popular singer. Accompanied by only a piano, his voice recordings became a big seller and did much to popularize the new-fangled gramophone. He had to sing into a metal "horn" that relayed his voice to a metal disc. And the songs had to be under 4 and a half minutes!

In 1919, at the age of 17 years old, Arthur was alive when on January 6th, President Theodore Roosevelt died. Having gone to bed the previous night after being treated for breathing problems, the ex-President died in his sleep from a clot that had traveled to his lungs. He was 60. After a simple service, Roosevelt was buried on a hillside overlooking Oyster Bay.
