My best friend.
Arthur was born in New Jersey, and he lived with his mother (Eleanor), father (Arthur, Sr.), younger brother (Paul), and youngest brother (John) on Palmer Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
Arthur and I both went to St Thomas the Apostle grammar School for 8 years. We would ride our bicycles to school each day, and when we were in the 6th grade we were altar boys together, serving the Tridentine Mass.
Of all of our friends...... Arthur was the leader. If anything was 'going on', it was Arthur who usually got us involved in it. He was an avid reader with a quick mind and an incredible imagination!
Often times we would play "soldier" in the many wooded areas that surrounded us. And of course Arthur and I were always building 'buggies' (wooden go-karts) out of planks of wood and old doll carriage Wheels. And of course we were forever riding our bicycles with our friends.
Arthur and I also belonged to the local kids baseball team. One of my fondest childhood memories of Arthur and I playing "catch" in the street for hours on end. We were truly best buddies!
After grammar School I lost track of Arthur...... We did not end up going to the same high School.
