Account of the Rescue of the Titanic
The handwritten account of the Captain of R.M.S. Carpathia (Capt. Arthur Henry Rostron) describing his response to the distress signal of the Titanic on 15 April 1912. The Carpathia was sunk in World War 1.

Captain Arthur Henry Rostron, the Carpathia
Capt. Arthur Rostron & under officers of the Carpathia. The Carpathia picked up survivors from the wreck of the Titanic in the early hours of April 15, 1912.

Because the Carpathia didn't have the supplies to carry all of the survivors to Europe (where she was headed), Capt Rostron returned to New York with the 712 Titanic survivors.
