He had siblings William Edward Bynon, Jane Esther Bynon, Anne Selina Bynong, Alice Maud Beatrice Bynon, George Harold Bynon, Hilda Clarisse Bynon, David Richard Bynon, and John Thomas Bynon. Arthur Bynon died at age 58 years old in 1944 in Bendigo.

In 1886, in the year that Arthur James Bynon was born, on May 4th, a general strike began in Chicago. Workers were striking for an 8 hour workday and in protest of the killing - by police - of several workers the day before. When an unknown person threw a dynamite bomb, the strike became violent. Seven policemen were killed as well as 4 civilians. It became known as the Haymarket Riot and eventually resulted in an 8 hourwork day as well as commemorations on May 1st for worker's rights.

In 1908, by the time he was 22 years old, a mysterious Siberian explosion leveled over 770 square miles of forest. There were no human casualties. Explanations of the explosion have included a comet, meteorite, natural atomic explosion, or a crashed UFO. Although it is called an impact event - the largest one in recorded earth history - there is no crater and it is widely thought that the explosion was caused by a meteor exploding 3 to 6 miles above the earth.
