    Arthur William Kunkelman was born to Howard Kunkelman (1871 - 1942) and Sara B. "Sadie" Steffy (1874 - 1909). Both parents were born in Pennsylvania. He had three brothers: Walter, Albert, and Herbert. Arthur Kunkelman married Margaret Elva Hoffman (1907 - 1988) in October of 1924. They had one son, Arthur Edward Kunkelman. On his World War II draft card, Arthur was described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 197 pounds. He had brown eyes, black hair, and a "ruddy" complexion.
