Arvid was my father. He is the son of Thomas Adam & Amelia Stoltenberg Foell of Rockwell, IA. He had one brother, Lloyd Foell and 3 sisters, Lenora, Viola, & Leone Foell. He served in World War 2 in the army. While in Germany he was engaged to a woman (German), this woman gave birth to his daughter, Marion born Sept. 13, 1947. He was discharged and back in the USA . We don't know if he ever knew about the child, as Grandma Amelia intercepted letters from this lady to my dad. Dad married my mother, Allene Ruth Shannon ( DOB 1-23-1930) on Valentine's Day of 1948 at the Methodist church in Nashua, IA. They had 4 sons, Arvin Joe, Allen James, Alvin John, Albert Jay, and one daughter (me) Arlene Jean Foell - Lockwood. Arvid worked with my grandpa, Raymond "Jake" Shannon ( Allene's father) in the carpentry business and worked on various farms in Iowa : near Sheffield, Charles City, Fredericksburg, Rockford,Greene, Thornton as hired man.
