This is a 2nd grade photo taken the week before Athena Sorrell unexpectedly passed away on May the 12th of 1995 (back then they offered fall and spring pictures at her school). Though sadly the photo package was not received until after her passing it gave those of us who knew her a priceless glimpse of her face, exactly as she appeared, just prior to leaving this world. Today, May 12th 2020, marks 25 years since that happy sun filled Friday afternoon so quickly turned into a haze of sadness at 4:17pm. You will forever live in our hearts and our memories.
