Military Service

Served with the 1st Marine Air Wing Corps for 15 months on Guadalcanal during the first part of the war in the Pacific. In 1945, T-SGT Aubrey Brawner returned to the Pacific area for duty after an 11 month stay in the United States. (from Eastland County Record, July 7, 1945)
Personal Life & Family

Aubrey was one of 7 children born to Stephen Sagers Brawner and Laura Webb. He and his twin sister, Audrey, grew up and went to school in Eastland County, Tx. In 1940 he was working in Upshur County Texas before entering military service. His father and oldest sister were killed in 1941 in Witchita Falls, Tx. in a July 1960 visit to his aunt, Mrs Wiley Harbin (his mother's sister) in Eastland, Tx, he is listed as married with a child, Stevie.
