Augie was the most unselfish person I have ever known in my life to date. His heart was bigger than he. When he passed I visited his backyard in the frosted chill of winter and I smelled bouquets of roses as sweet as any Ive ever smelled. I was sure some perfumed women had arrived to pay respects as I was. As I walked around the house there was no one to be found. I kept taking deeper and deeper breaths of this heavenly scent because I knew at that time it was a sign from him and heaven above that he was home. I kept sniffing until it slowly faded away and I sat and cried tears of joy. Augustine Anthony Ortega was my father and he was the kindest loving father one could ask for. I miss you Dad but you are with me each and every day of my life, and I still look to you for answers and help raising my family. I share with them all of the wonderful things you showed us. Too much to name youre amazing Pop. But I love doing things with them as you did with us. Its my joy and now I see how you always were filled with joy and love for us. Thank you for everything. If I can be an 10th of the man you were Id be blessed. Youre never forgotten Pop and each and every day I look at your picture and visit your resting site. I love it there. I know one day we will see each other again, and in that day I will rejoice in Heaven's Kingdom with you my precious Dad.
