Axel was married to my Great Aunt,Julia;; sister to Grandpa Ole. . Our family loved to visit with them when we were in Duluth. They had no children of their own so I am thinking they enjoyed the 4 of us. Uncle Axel sometimes gave us silver dollars; I still have a few in my safe deposit box. Uncle Axel had a booming voice and sang with The Sons of Norway choir in Duluth. One day I had the radio on and the newsman mentioned a past citizen who had sun w
Axel was married to our great Aunt Julia. He had a booming voice and sang with the Sons of Norway Choir in Duluth.
One day, many years after he had passed on, he was remembered on his birthday by a local radio station. I was driving along when I heard that and felt very blessed.
They didn’t have children of their own but were always to welcoming and kind to us, their great nieces and nephew. He used to give us silver dollars once in awhile. I still have a couple in my safe deposit box. I’m assuming they might be quite valuable as they are probably about 70 years old
