His funeral was held at Maher Funeral Home in Pleasantville, New York.
Military Service

Bartolomeo served in the Italian Navy. He also served in the United States Navy from January 25th, 1944 until November 28th, 1945 during World War II.
Professional Career

Bartolomeo, age 42, told the 1950 Federal census that he was an owner of a restaurant. He was described as being the founder of the Elms Restaurant on Route 22 in Patterson, which he opened in 1949. He retired from the restaurant business in 1964. He was also the owner of harness race horses and was active in racing at Yonkers Raceway.

Bartolomeo Giacomo Giaccone was born on April 12th, 1908 in Genoa, Italy to Angel Giacometti (1874 - 1966) and Maria Peroni (1881 - 1947) and he had four siblings: Gino, Marcello, Lucia and Camilla Giacometti. Bartolomeo G. Giaccone married Felicia "Fay" Marino (1911 - 1961) on October 26th, 1935 in Kings County, New York and they had children Louise and Vincent. On his October 1940 World War II draft card, Bartolomeo described himself as being thirty-two years old, five feet eight inches tall, and as weighing 180 pounds. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and a "dark" complexion. He was survived by six grandchildren. See Bartolomeo Giaccone: Obituary.

Grandpa

Oh how I wish I could have spent more time with you. I love going to the racetrack walking The paddock with you learning about horses you started to teach me Italian but I was coming home with curse words and my mother was not too happy LOL. I just really wish I had more time to learn from you. Rest in peace you are still missed and I just visited your grave site and said prayers love you grandpa
