  • Introduction

I have to say, I was very blessed and fortunate to have had such a great Father...His sense of humor was just one of many traits I loved about my Dad. For some odd reason he liked the grave yard shift at his job, at Lucky stores warehouse in San Leandro, California. He woke me and my two brothers Rick and Bill up for school in the morning with a joke or an impersonation of many different people ! He coached soccer and little league baseball and was an avid sports fan and fisherman.. He would take my brothers and I over night fishing out in the Delta close to Discovery bay or knightsen, ca. He had a special place he loved to go just past the Discovery bay turn in under the "draw bridge"... I remember him taking me and my friends there one hot summer night, it was about 11:00 pm and there was a keg party about 3 or 4 hundred feet away from where we were fishing , my friends and I walked down to see where the music was coming from and we came up on about 200 people having a great time I think this was about 72 or 73. I asked a guy what they were drinking from the aluminum drum and he said "BEER !" he asked if I want to try some and I did...I remember loving the taste of beer right away and the feeling that came right after consuming it ! The guy said "no, no, no, you are drinking it all wrong, you have to drink it slow and enjoy it" ...I will never forget the sounds of the bull frogs and watching the muskrats swimming across the river and the huge full moon that night... all the smells of the river..I am forever thankful for that night Pop ! and all the love and sacrifices you gave to raise me... One other thing, Now im not proud of this at all but it happened, and now I can look back and laugh.. one night before work Dad opened the door to my bedroom and was pretty upset about some grades I had received, he was yelling at me and that wasnt his style, he was going on for awhile... I couldnt see him and he couldnt see me, "I thought" I got the bright idea to fly Dad the bird....Which wasnt the smartest thing ive ever done...he saw me in the reflection in the window, it was dark out.....I never had my a** kicked that hard in my life...I know he felt bad afterwards... I Love you Dad, Forever...God bless you Happy Birthday...He was 6"2" 265 had a beard most of his adult life. He had big strong hands Black hair blue eyes stocky build, as friendly as could be..His dream was to be a song writer....
