There is a record of Benny Garland Richards born August 7th 1961 living in Gillette Wyoming born to Benny Garland Richards and Joyce Imogene Oliver. We know Benny had been living at 506 Austin St in Wolfe City Texas in 1993 and in 1994 5732 State Highway 34 North also in Wolfe City. I believe this is the same TV personality officer Benny Richards who frequently appears on the Animal Planet TV show called "Lone Star Law". He has served with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for over 25 years and is stationed in Hunt County Texas. In 2015, he was recognized as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Officer of the Year and he has been instrumental in resolving several Operation Game Thief cases.

In 1962, in the year that Benny G. Richards Jr was born, on October 1st, African-American James H. Meredith, escorted by federal marshals, registered at the University of Mississippi - becoming the first African-American student admitted to the segregated college. He had been inspired by President Kennedy's inaugural address to apply for admission.

In 1971, in March, Intel shipped the first microprocessor to Busicom, a Japanese manufacturer of calculators. The microprocessor has since allowed computers to become smaller and faster, leading to smaller and more versatile handheld devices, home computers, and supercomputers.

In 1979, on March 28th, a partial nuclear meltdown occurred at the power plant at Three Mile Island Pennsylvania. Radiation leaked into the environment, resulting in a rating of 5 on a scale of 7 ("Accident With Wider Consequences") . It ended up costing $1 billion to clean up the site.

In 1980, on April 24th, a rescue attempt was begun in the Iranian Hostage Crisis. The attempt failed and 8 US servicemen were killed. Eight helicopters had been sent for the mission, but only 5 arrived in operating condition., Since the military had advised that the mission be aborted if there were fewer than 6 helicopters, President Carter stopped it. Upon leaving, a helicopter collided with a transport plane and the men were killed.

In 1991, on January 16th, Allied forces began the first phase of Operation Desert Storm. Saddam Hussein's forces had previously invaded the sovereign state of Kuwait and the focus of the operation was to remove his Iraqi troops from Kuwait. On February 24th, the ground war began. Within 100 hours, American ground troops declared Kuwait liberated.
