  • Introduction

I half seriously asked my homeroom teacher Mrs. Crist (later Colegrove) if she owned Crist's ambulance service since I saw mention of it in Middletown's newspaper. I was surprised when she said she and her first husband had founded the service in Pine Bush, New York, when they both witnessed a man die in the street while waiting for an ambulance.
