Two from her first marriage to Floyd Willis, James Clarence ( deceased from hart attack) and Jackie Leroy Willis of Clive, Iowa still living age 79, bd March 30. She married Homer Sirdoreus in 1945? And had 4 children. Ruthie Mae now age 72, Rose Mary (me) age 67, Fred Wayne died Oct 4, 2018 at age 64 from a blood clot due to a brain tumor, and Ray Sirdoreus age 62.

    Bernice died on May 18, 2003 at the age of 85. She was born in 1918 to parents Thomas and Una Madden of DENVER, Colorado where she grew up. She married Floyd Willis in 1934 and they had 2 children, James Clarence in 1936 and Jackie Leroy in 1938. After divorcing she remarried to Homer Sirdoreus in 1945 and moved to Iowa where she remained until her death. They had 4 children, Ruthie Mae Purscell, Rose Mary Wiig, Fred Wayne Sirdoreus and Ray Homer Sirdoreus all living at htime of her death. She also had 8 grandchildren, Jimi Kay Willis, Ericka Wiig, Aaron Wiig, , Shana Sirdoreus, Nicole Sirdorues, Tammy Purscell, Gary Purscell and Daisy Purscell

In 1918, in the year that Bernice W Sirdoreus was born, in January, President Wilson presented his Fourteen Points, which assured citizens that World War I was being fought for a moral cause and outlined a plan for postwar peace in Europe. The only leader of the Allies to present such a plan, the Europeans thought Wilson was being too idealistic. The points included free trade, open agreements, democracy and self-determination. They were based on the research and suggestions of 150 advisors.

In 1922, by the time she was just 4 years old, on June 22, coal miners in Herrin Illinois, were on strike (coal miners had been on strike nationally since April 1). The striking miners were outraged at the strikebreakers (scabs) that the company had brought in and laid siege to the mine. Three union workers were killed when gunfire was exchanged. The next day, union miners killed 23 strikebreakers and mine guards. No one, on either side, ever faced jail time.
