I was a child when I knew Dan and Berta in London, ON, Canada, where Dan worked as a professor alongside my Dad at the local university. Dan and Berta were both warm and generous people whose divorce shocked us. Berta had a beautiful smile and a slightly nervous way about her. It was a tragedy that she fell into a depression and took her own life in the aftermath of her divorce and dog custody battle. They had no children that I knew of. I hope someone who knew her as a child or young adult finds this and can fill in more of the wonderful things about this person whom I recall vividly from the 1970s.
