A loving Mother and grandmother, Who moved from West, Virginia in the 1960's. To Pittsburgh, PA Bertha Johnson Hairston had 16 Grandchildren living in Virginia and West VA, Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit Michigan, All of her grandchildren were her favorite. Harry Hairston III, Glenn Hairston, James Hairston Jr., Jason Hairston. Aaron Boyd Jr. Harry Boyd, James Boyd, Timothy Boyd, Patricia Boyd, Maurice Boyd, Fredrick Boyd, Darrell Boyd, Terry Boyd, Anthony Boyd, Christopher Boyd and Nanda Boyd. She made the best fried chicken and apple. peach cobblers and homemade ice cream. She was the younger sister of Nancy Robinson of Kimball, West VA, John and Sylvester Johnson. During the great Depression, she took her three children lived with Aunt Harriet who was a Hairston or a Johnson.
