The Bradford, PA Era, Tuesday, April 3, 1973 Obituaries Mrs. Bessie D. Abbott Mars. Bessie D. Abbott, 70, of 17 Gilbert Lane, died in Bradford Hospital at 6:30 a.m. Monday. she had been hospitalized one week and had been in failing health the past year. Mrs. Abbott was born Sept. 15, 1902, in Bradford, the daughter of Roy and Grace Manry DeGolier, and had been a lifelong Bradford resident. Her husband, Francis P. Abbott, died Oct. 15, 1963. she had been employed at Bradford Hospital for 21 years, retiring three years ago. she was a member of the West Branch United Methodist Church, and the West Branch Grange. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Gough of Struthers, Ohio. Mrs. Erma McCauley of Bemus Point, N.Y., and Mrs. mary Lou Crance of Bradford; three sons, Ray, Richard, and Thomas Abbott, all of Bradford; one sister, Mrs. Bea Barton of East Syracuse, N.Y.; and three brothers, Rober DeGolier of Bradford, Harry DeGolier of Eldred, and Roy DeGolier of Stockton, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel after 3p.m. today, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Lawrence A. Lyman of the West Branch United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
