My name is Tiffani. I was just a little girl - maybe 5 years old - the first time I met Bessie. She lived on the same block we did and she had a large tree in her yard with a tire swing. I went down there one day when she was swinging and started talking to her. From that day on we were inseperable! She was like a 2nd mom to me and I stayed the night with her every weekend. We became like family for the next 10 years!! Then my parents sold our house and we had to move. Her and I were devastated but I promised her I would write and call her. I did just that! When I had my first child in 1993, I came to visit her but, it wasn't the same. She was older and her patience for a very small child was limited. So, I didn't visit much, but I called once in awhile to check on her and update her on my life and get up to date on hers. When I went to college, I lost track of her and when I moved back home, she was gone. My parents said she moved to Tennessee with her kids. I tried for years to get ahold of Naomi or someone to tell me where she was how she was. Now, I finally see on here she passed in 1999?? Wow....
