Betty J (Bowman) Potts was born to William R. Bowman and Beulah M. Kyle. She had sibling Josephine Ann Anderson (1930 - 2011). Betty Bowman married James Potts and they had children Brenda, Lynn, and James Jr. When she died she was, in addition to her husband and children, survived by four grandchildren. The following obituary appeared in The Press Democrat on Saturday, March 26, 1994, on page 18: Services have been held for Betty Jo Potts, a 30 year resident of Santa Rosa, who died Feb.19 at a Santa Rose hospital of liver failure. She was 61. Born and reared in Little Rock, Ark., she came to California around 1960 and eventually settled in Santa Rosa. She was a homemaker. Potts had numerous trophies to show for her interest in bowling. She also liked to play pinochle. She is survived by her husband, James Potts of Santa Rose; daughters Brenda Gutierrez and Lynn Potts, both of Santa Rosa; son, James Potts Jr. of Santa Rosa; and four grandchildren. Services were held at Daniels Chapel of the Roses. Burial was at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
