Billy Stone was born on December 10th, 1927 in West Virginia to William Stone (1891 - 1933) and Merlie E. Simpkins (1887 - 1953). His father was born in Kentucky and his mother was born in Virginia. Billy had two sisters, Emma and Meryall Virginia, and one brother, Talmage. A veteran, Billy enlisted in the United States Army on February 17th, 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Billy Stone married Bertha Jean Wright in 1948 in McDowell, West Virginia. They had three children: two daughters and one son. Billy died at the age of 59 in Beckley, West Virginia.
