Arthur Raymond LaBrack was born on March 12, 1918 to Jack LaBrack and Anna Belle Goodale, and had a brother Donald Elmer LaBrack. Arthur LaBrack died at age 26 years old on February 13, 1945.

  • Introduction

    He was a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot (First Lieutenant, ID #0-687110) who held both U.S. and British wings. Killed in action (crashed upon take-off in Kunming--cause unknown) flying the supply route ("Route Easy") into Kunming, China from Paoshan, China as part of the 1327th Base Unit of the Air Transport Command (ICWATC) flying a B-24D. He was inducted into the service Jan.16, 1941, into Co.M, 181st Infantry, M.N.G. and was later chosen to receive special training, becoming a ferry pilot, as a 2nd Lt. and soon promoted to 1st Lieutenant. He was aged 26 years, 11 mo., one day. He was returned to Ashburnham, Mass. for burial, November 4, 1947. He is commemorated on a monument at Aviation Martyrs Cemetery in Nanjing, China.

Younger who was highly decorated for valor and received the Distinguished Service Cross in "The Great War" - was brought back from France (World War 1) and placed in the newly completed tomb. President Warren G. Harding officiated at the interment ceremonies.
