    Brett had a very charming sense of humor. Hey loves his wife, Donna, and his two children very much. He was not a perfect man, but he instilled values of love and pride in quality of his professional skills. He was a truly amazing handyman capable of fixing about anything and loved to work on his cars/trucks. He would often take his son to Universal City Walk to engage in a NASCAR race simulator. NASCAR, and racing in general was his favorite sport/pass time. Brett put a high value on putting his family first beyond everything, sometimes to a flaw, but had exceptional values overall, despite some of his shortcomings in the final months of his life.

These attributes lead him to become a, “house painter for the rich” as he often referred. His main clients resided in Beverly Hills, Lauren Canyon, Belair, and other high income areas. Brett preferred to work alone due to his high standard of work and did not have any employees, other than his son for a brief period toward the end of his life. He was meticulous and an a true artist in his work.

    Brett Ouimette was a loving father, husband, and son. He was known for his strong sense of humor and his extreme attention to detail in his work. Once a very social man, Brett was more secluded later in life and preferred to spend his time with his children. Brett, being the youngest of 5 (4 older brothers and 1 older sister), had a strong love and relationship with his mother. His dream was to one day retire on a boat or have his own ranch like his uncle Clifford, a man he looked up to highly but passed away when Brett was still a child. Brett had a rocky relationship with his father for a large portion of his adult life, however, the two of them had reconciled the last decade of Brett’s life and spoke over the phone several time a week and overall enjoyed each others company in the later years. Brett was very proud of his son and daughter, who he loved more than anything in the world. Brett enjoyed auto mechanics, especially his trucks, video games, hiking, racing, NASCAR, camping, and being a Jack of all trades.

    Gunshot wound to the chest. Circumstances are unclear, however, it appears it was likely an accidental discharge. Brett was prescribed blood thinners due to a recent heart attack at the time of the wound, which complicated and hastened the situation. He succumbed to his wounds at a popular hiking spot in Simi Valley California that he often frequented.
