Bror Ingmar Larson's History: 1920 - 1977

Uncover new discoveries and connections today by sharing about people & moments from yesterday.
  • Introduction

Bror I. Larson emigrated to the U.S. from Sweden in 1923 or 1924. He was raised in northern New Jersey. He was studying to be a minister when WWII broke out. Raised a Quaker, he was a pacifist, but believed he needed to serve his country. He became a medic in the Army and served in Iwo Jima, amongst other places. The war left him emotionally scarred. He never returned to school, drifting from job to job, drinking heavily, etc. Me met my mom, Alice J. Marsh in 1950 and got married. He raised her son fro a previous marriage, Jay D. Boden, and then I came along. My Dad had a deep faith which helped him quit drinking and smoking. Too little too late as he suffered from cancer on several occasions until a body beaten by life expired in 1977 at the age of 57. He was a good man that deserves to be remembered more than a grave marker in a cemetery. I hope this helps.
