Bruce Alan "Holmes" Medlicott was born to James Vernon Medlicott (1931 - 2014) and Beverly Ann King (1931 - 1995). He had five siblings, three brothers and two sisters, including Stephen Richard Medlicott, (1967 - 2018), Gary, John, Pam, and Lynn Medlicott. Bruce Medlicott first married Paula S Keeton on March 18, 1977. They divorced on November 20, 1981 in Williamson County, Texas. He then married Mary A Rodriguez on August 3, 1982. The following obituary appeared in the Star Tribune: Newspaper of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis, Minnesota) on June 8, 2006: Deceased Name: Medlicott, Bruce Alan AKA "Holmes" Medlicott, Bruce Alan AKA "Holmes" Loving Son & Brother, May 9 age 50 of Austin, TX, formerly of St. Paul. Former Airborne Ranger & highly dedicated & decorated 26 year veteran of the Austin Texas Police Dept. Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly. Survived by father, James Medlicott; brothers, Gary (Dr. Leonore Herrera), John (Danette), Stephen; sisters, Pam (Craig) Metcalf & Lynn (George) Watson. Special friend and law enforcement partner, Lisa Morrill; and nieces & nephews. Bruce had a heart of gold and his spirit and personality will be imbedded in the hearts & minds of those he touched throughout his life. Bruce Alan Medlicott died in his home on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. Bruce, AKA "Holmes", served his country as an Airborne Ranger with the 2/75th Ranger Battalion. He served the city of Austin as a highly dedicated and decorated police officer for 26 years. He loved golfing, motorcycle riding, competition shooting, police work and always giving his friends grief. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., in the Colonial Chapel of Cook- Walden Funeral Home.
