Carl Leo Maynard of Ogden, Utah United States was born on October 18, 1919 in MO to Ira Maynard. He had siblings Roy Maynard, Holly Maynard, Freda Maynard Rose, Floyd Maynard, Leonard Maynard, and Clifford Maynard. Carl was baptized at calvery baptist church in Ogden, UT. He married Blanche Virginia Reed, and had children Bonnie Sue Maynard Swanson Briseno and Ramona Lynn (Maynard) White. Carl Maynard died at age 48 years old in 1967 in Green River, Sweetwater County, WY, and was buried at Springfield National Cemetery Section 33 Site 569 1702 East Seminole Street, in Springfield, Mo.

In 1919, in the year that Carl Leo Maynard was born, the "Black Sox Scandal" rocked baseball fans during the World Series. Eight players on the Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing the World Series, thus allowing the Cincinnati Reds to win, and making money off of the losses. All of the players were found not guilty by a jury but the fallout lasted for decades. The players were banned from baseball even though they were found innocent.
