On January 10, 1941 he enrolled in New York Guard, Company 1, 7th Regiment at Pelham Manor, New York, USA. He finished New York Guard service on August 3, 1942 and then on August 18, 1942 he enrolled in US Army Warrant Officers, Branch Immaterial at Fort Jay, Governors Island, New York, New York, USA.
