  • Introduction

    Carlton W. Kime, age 77, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 1998, at Hackley Hospital, Muskegon, Michigan. He was born August 8, 1921 in Breckenridge, Michigan. Surviving him are his two daughters, Rebecca (Becky) S. (Thomas) Solon of Sedona, AZ, and Kristine L. (Timothy) Hoehn of Evergreen, Colorado. Mr. Kime was a member of the Muskegon Elks Lodge #274, the Muskegon Port Side Model A Club, and Temple United Methodist Church. Mr. Kime was a B-24 pilot and flight instructor in the U.S. Air Force during WW II, and he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Engineering in 1948. He then went to work for Teledyne Continental Motors and retired in 1987 after 37 years of service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 9th, 1998 at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating, with Rev. Roy Osborn officiating. For those who wish to do so, memorial contributions may be made to Temple United Methodist Church.

He was a USAF pilot and flight instructor during his wartime tour of duty with the Air Force. After his time in the service, Mr. Kime married Doris Virginia Siefka and moved to Ann Arbor, MI, to pursue higher education. He graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of Michigan in 1948 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and then moved to Muskegon, MI, where he joined Continental Motors in 1950 and lived in Muskegon until his death in 1998.
