Carolyn Alyce Little Wendt, 82, of Oxford, Ohio, died May 19, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati after a long struggle with diabetes and heart issues.
Carolyn was born November 11, 1934 in Westerville Ohio to Paul R Little and Veva Flora DeWolf Little. During her life, Carolyn lived in Westerville, Columbus, Cincinnati, Oxford, and Somerville, Ohio.
She attended Westerville High School, graduating in 1952. She continued her education at The Ohio State University, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.
While raising her five children, Carolyn continued her education with various seminars and conferences. Starting in early 70s, she started seeing clients at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio. She eventually worked various OT programs at Good Samaritan, Jewish, and Christ Hospitals in Cincinnati, working with children, elderly, and psychiatric patients. She ended her career back at Good Samaritan in 2004.
She was very passionate about her career, especially Sensory Integration and Motor Planning in children. She was a voracious reader on eclectic topics her entire life and enjoyed broadening the minds of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Steven (Craig Stearman) of San Diego, CA; Christine Wendt Colyer, (Dennis) of Oxford, Ohio; Joseph (Stormy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Kathleen Wendt Edmonds (Timothy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as five granddaughters: Jenni (Jason), Caitlin (Christopher), Shelby (James), Aubrey, Sierra, and five great-grandchildren: Colin, Ella, Addison, Charlotte, and Christopher Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her second son Michael (Leslie).
She was a surrogate mother to Randy Bick, Pamela Jacobson and Jonah Elkins, as well as a collector of lost souls and a saviour to a menagerie of stray animals.
