    Casimir Borowski Sr. Borowski, Casimir Sr. PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. Casimir Jan (Casey) Borowski Sr., age 90, died June 3, 2009. Born February 11, 1919, the 2nd child of Zigmunt Borowski and Walentyna Kowalski, was predeceased by his sister, Mary Borowski; nephew, Tadziu Or-manski; brother, Joseph Raymond Borowski; and sister, Genevieve Brown. He is survived by: his widow, Alice Whitman of Fla.; a sister, Sophie Orminski; sister-in-law, Irene Borowski of Albany; as well as his children and their families: Casimir Borowski Jr (Karen) of Texas, Allen Borow-ski (Karen, Roberta) of N.Y., Cyndy Wilber (Roger) Ravena, N.Y., Jacqueline Emerson (Jerry) and Jeffrey Borowski (Brenda), both of Arizona. A World War II veteran, Casey survived the Battle of Normandy at Omaha Beach Head. On November 11, 2000, he received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, and receipt of the Normandy Medal of the Jubilee of Liberty. During the war, he received many medals, including: a Medal for Invasion of Europe (France) at Omaha Beach Head and the French Appreciation Medal for assistance in their war against the Germans. He worked in the Capital Region for over 40 years, before finally retiring and relocating to Fla. Casey never truly stopped working, continuing to be a talented carpenter and handyman. He survived several battles with cancer, and will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Funeral arrangements were through Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens, Punta Gorda, Fla.
