She operated a Bakery,thru out her early years, Then Made a special Paint that wouldn't chip when she tried to get a patent for it the Government stepped in and barred her from manufacturing it because it would last too long with out needing to be replaced or repainted. She ran a roadside Hot Dog stand selling her famous homemade Icecream ,foot long hot dogs and other fine foods.She operated and owned the Kays Foot Long Hot Dogs,and Pony Rink on Rt 6-11 when it was first put in.
She was highly intelligent even tho she had only a 4th grade education.

Catherine H Thompson( Kay) was my Grandmother, she loved her family and I came to find out she had a music contract early on in her life. She was always a strong women and very proud. She became ill when I was young and my mother Catherine took care of her in our family home until the time of her death her memory is definitely blessed

Catherine was my maternal grandmother my mother was Shirley's sister Catherine and Joseph Jr was their brother . I never met my Grandfather Benson until I was an adult and never got to know him before he passed.
