Cecil Eason was born on December 1, 1915 in Silsbee, Texas United States to Eliza Jane “Liza” (Ard) Eason and Columbus Jackson “Lum” Eason Sr., and had a brother Issac C (I.C.) Eason. He married Emma Gladys (Whisenant) Eason on March 9, 1936 in Silsbee, Hardin County, and had a child James Burl Eason. Cecil Eason died at age 75 years old on July 21, 1991 in Beaumont.

In 1915, in the year that Cecil A. Eason was born, The Birth of a Nation opened in February. A silent film, it was the most ambitious film to date and is considered a classic. Three hours long, it starred Lillian Gish and was directed by D. W. Griffith. The movie was based on the book The Clansman and told the story of two families (one pro-Union and one pro-Confederate) and their relationship during the Civil War and Reconstruction. The KKK was shown as "a heroic force".

In 1924, when he was merely 9 years old, in May, wealthy college students Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb kidnapped and killed 14 year old Robert Franks "in the interest of science". Leopold and Loeb thought that they were intellectually superior and that they could commit the perfect crime and not be caught. They were brought in for questioning within 8 days and quickly confessed. Clarence Darrow was hired as their defense lawyer, getting them life imprisonment instead of a death sentence. Loeb was eventually killed in prison - Leopold was released after 33 years, dying of a heart attack at age 66.
