During WWII Charles proudly served in the United States Army in Northern Africa and Italy, where he earned 4 bronze stars. In December of, 1946 he married Marcella Wilt in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, USA. They lived in Ross, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, USA and had sons Raymond and Roy Rieck.

    Charles D. Rieck, age 97, of Seville, Ross Twp., passed away peacefully with his loving wife Marcella at his side on Saturday, December 5, 2020. He and Marcella (Wilt) were married for 74 wonderful years. Charles was the beloved father of Raymond (the late Darlene) Rieck, and Roy (Kathleen) Rieck; the treasured grandfather of Tom (Mary Beth), Mark (Kathy), Michael, Marty (Felicia) and Max (Kristen); great-grandfather to Alexis, Zoe, Colin, Aiden, Gabriel, Eli, and Rose; brother-in-law of Marjorie Michalowsky, Jean Kovach, Raymond E. (the late Essie) Wilt and Roy (Sunny) Wilt. During WWII Charles proudly served in the United States Army in Northern Africa and Italy, where he earned 4 bronze stars. He loved wood working, gardening and especially spending time with his family. He never missed his grandchildren's games! We would like to thank the staff at Baptist Home for their kind and loving care to our father. Due to COVID-19 precautions visitation will be private. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Cyril of Alexandria church on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Pop you will always be close to our hearts. Arrangements entrusted to Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View. In lieu of flowers family asks for donations in his name to Genesis of Pittsburgh, 550 California Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15202.
