He married Caroline Unthank ( Scott, and had children Percy Gordon Unthank, Harrie Leonard Unthank, Catherine "Kitty" Unthank, Charles "Sydney" Unthank, Alfred Norman Unthank, and Katie Elma Unthank. Charles Unthank died at age 60 years old on October 24, 1913 in Hastings, Mornington Peninsula Shire County, VIC Australia.
