Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Charles

Charles was my father....
Charles Lee Woods known as Chuck to family and friends served in the Pacific durring WW2. He was wounded several times. After the war he married my mother Nora Joann Durbin. Im sure he had PTSD from the war but in those days there was no treatment from the VA or any other goverment agency. In 1952 his wife Nora was striken with polio and was an Iron Lung patient. He and my mother soon divorced. I believe because of his PTSD he was unable to raise my sister and me, so he gave us to his mother. I have nothing but love for a father I only spent a few years with as a child. As a grown man I reconnected with him and discovered what a great and loving man he was in spite of all his troubles..I know he had had othe children from another marrage but only met one of his other sons. His name was also Charles. Rest in piece Dad I love you.....
