    Charles Victor Sultana was born on October 18th, 1894, in Paola, Malta to Peter Sultana and Marianne Sultana. When Charles was born, Malta was a part of the British empire, only becoming its own republic in 1964. He then relocated to New Castle, England, before immigrating to the United States, specifically New York, New York, aboard the ship Oscada on April 10th, 1921. Charles married twice during his lifetime. His first marriage, at age 33, was to Ada Sarah Jenkins (1892 - 1938) on February 28th, 1927, who was 35, in Manhattan, New York. Following Ada's passing, Charles, age 46, remarried, to Marie G. Cerrato on June 10th, 1940. Their marriage was confirmed at the time Charles registered for the World War II draft in 1942.

After Ada's death, Charles married Marie Girda Cerrato on June 10, 1940 in Manhattan, New York. Their marriage was documented when Charles registered for the World War II draft in 1942. Charles and Marie had two sons who were born in New York, New York: Charles, who was born about 1941, and his younger brother Constantine, who was born about 1943.
