Charlie Pleasant Talbert of Aberdeen, Moore County, NC was born on September 1, 1915 to Causey Pleas Talbert and Victoria Simmons. He had siblings Leonard Talbert and James Talbert. He married Annie Jane Freeman Talbert, and had children Allie Mae Talbert Davis, Joyce Ann Talbert Davis, Billy Lee Talbert, Jackie Wayne Talbert, Donald Clarence Talbert, Barbara Jean Talbert Reynolds, Stanley Ray Talbert, and Phyllis Carol Talbert Owens. Charlie Talbert died at age 79 years old on September 7, 1994.

His films were at first banned - the ban was lifted after a year - and he was mostly ostracized by the community. He died at 46..
