Christine Harriet Reid Bednarski was born Nov 18, 1922 in a pasture to parents Fredrick Walter Reid (1895-1961) and Eleanor A Smith (1902-1932) Leyden, Franklin, Massachusetts, USA. She had 4 siblings including her sister Edith J (1922-2013) who was her best friend, and three brothers Walter Forrest (1924-2017), Clifford F (1926-2004), and Arthur H Reid (1931-1977). Christine and her family lived in Deerfield, Franklin, Massachusetts, USA. She married Ignace James Bednarski II (1924-1988) and they had four sons together including Ignace James Bednarski III (1949-2005) and Jeffrey C Bednarski (1958-1977) and two daughters and went on to have 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Christine went to school for nursing and established the Cozy Corner Nursing Home in 1950 as she had a devotion to caring for the elderly. Christine Harriet Reid Bednarski died on February 15, 2011 in her Nursing Home.

Published Thursday Feb 17, 2011 in The Recorder (Greenfield, Massachusetts): Sunderland- Christine Harriet Reid Bednarski died Tuesday at her nursing home in Sunderland. She established the Cozy Corner Nursing Home in 1950 with a supreme devotion to caring for the elderly. She was born November 18, 1923 in a pasture in Leyden, the daughter of Fredrick W. and Elinor Smith Reid. She had three brothers, one sister, her best friend. She graduated in 1942 from Deerfield High School, earned her nursing degree from Mt. Vernon (NY) Hospital in 1944, then served as an Army Cadet at Ft. Dix (NJ). She had four sons and two daughters, 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cozy Corner Activity Fund, Old Amherst Road, Sunderland MA 01375.
