Christopher Miltner 1831 - 1901

Christopher Miltner of Lake City, Missaukee County, Michigan United States was born on July 25, 1831 in Dossenheim, Karlsruhe County, BW Germany to Johann Georg Miltner and Margaretha Aloisia (Riedinger) Miltner. He had siblings Peter Miltner, Katharina Margaretha (Miltner) Bonner, Johann Georg Miltner, and Jacob Miltner. He married Maria Elizabeth Schmich, and had children Louise Miltner, Henry Miltner, George Miltner, Helena Miltner, and Maxamillian Miltner. Christopher Miltner died at age 69 years old on June 14, 1901 at Reeder Township in Lake City, Missaukee County, Michigan United States, and was buried on June 15, 1901 in Flowerville, Livingston County.

  • Introduction

    Christopher arrived in America in 1855. He married Elizabeth Schmidt (her actual maiden name was Schmich) on February 7, 1856 in Marion Township, Livingston County, Michigan. This was her second marriage; her first marriage was to her first cousin. They lived together in the Marion Township from 1856 to about 1862. They settled on the "Miltner Farm" perhaps sometime after 1862, located six miles south and one mile west of Flowerville, in the Iosco Township, Livingston County, Michigan.
