Clara Wilhelmina Sophia (Brammer) Witney was born in 1864 in Hanover, NDS Germany to Johann Friedrich Gabriel Brammer and Catherine Brammer, and had a sister Caroline"Lena"Feder ( Brammer. She was in a relationship with Henry William Witney, and had children Madeline Clara Elliott ( Witney, Victor William Witney, and Percy Rowland Witney. Clara Witney died at age 59 years old on May 10, 1924 in Antwerp, Hindmarsh Shire County, VIC Australia.

    Border Watch, Mt Gambier 20 May 1924. MRS. CLARA WITNEY. A well known and highly respected resident of the Dimboola district, and one who was amongst the early settlers in the locality, in the person of Mrs. Clara Witney, died at her residence, Antwerp ( Vic. ) on Saturday afternoon, at the age of 60. The deceased was the wife of Mr. H. Witney, brother of Mr. C. Witney, of Warracknabeal, and Mr. W. Witney, of Aubrey. At the age of four, she came with her parents to Australia, by the sailing vessel "Morning Star,"landing in Melbourne in 1867. The family settled first in the Mount Gambier district, but later went to Kaniva, where the deceased was married to Mr. Witney in 1882. They settled in the Aubrey district in 1888, and after 14 years residence in that locality came to Antwerp, where their home has since been. The late Mrs. Witney is survived by eight chidren.
