Clarence Byron Chase was born to Harry Walter Chase (1888 - 1973) and Gail Audrey Dickey (1891 - 1923). He had one brother, Glenn, and one half-sister, Ines. Clarence Chase married twice: first to Hilda Katherine Faga (1906 - 2003) in 1930 and they had two children: a boy and a girl. They divorced in 1938 in Adair County, Iowa. Clarence then married Aimee Raymond (1904 - 1994) in 1959. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Clarence served during World War II and then from November of 1948 to July of 1954.
