[NAME/SUMMARY] Tharle, Clement Urry (17 January 1869 ~ 29 JULY 1931) [OBITUARY/FUNERAL NOTICE] DEATH OF MR. C. U. THARLE, As the "Journal" was going to press, on Wednesday afternoon, word was received of the death of Mr. Clement Urry Tharle, a resident of Kidd and Stud road, Dandenong, who has been associated with, this part virtually during his extended lifetime. His death was not unexpected, since he has been ill for a long time, and latterly had become unconscious, when it was evident his end was near. There are many now who mourn for him, since his name is a familiar one in the business and progressive life of this town. Deceased, who was a native of Dandenong, was a member of the old established firm of Tharle Bros., who traded here for many years, and he was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends in this and surrounding districts. He was a large property owner in Dandenong. Mr. Tharle was ever ready to assist local institutions, and was a member, of the Improvement Association and Oddfellows’ Lodge. In his younger days he was an active member of the Dandenong Football and Cricket clubs, and for several years past was a prominent member and official of the Dandenong Bowling Club. The Fire Brigade had his support for many years, and therein he attained the rank of captain. To the bereaved relatives we extend sincere sympathy.
