    Clifford J. McKillip, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Muscatine Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Mary Howell will officiate the services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites by the combined units of the V.F.W Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the New Hope United Methodist Church. Visitation for Clifford will be held on Tuesday, January 27, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the New Hope United Methodist Church in memory of Clifford. Sympathy notes may be left for the McKillip family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Clifford John McKillip was born on July 25, 1927 in Muscatine, the son of John and Helena (Friese) McKillip. Clifford was a 1946 graduate of Muscatine High School. Clifford served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On October 23, 1954, Clifford was united in marriage to Betty Corder in Muscatine. He worked for International Harvester in Rock Island and was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church, where he was very active, United Methodist Men and United Auto Workers. In Clifford's younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and later in life enjoyed gardening. Clifford will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty of Muscatine; his children, Steven McKillip and his wife, Barbara of Muscatine and Linda Adams and her husband, Dan of Muscatine; two grandchildren, Timothy and Sarah McKillip of Muscatine; two step grandchildren, Corey Adams of Dubuque and Aaron Adams of Muscatine; four sisters, Velma Truesdale of Muscatine, Anna Morgan and her husband, Ralph of Missouri, Esther Hansen and her husband, Melvin of Durant and Bernice Stalkfleet of Muscatine and one brother, Chester McKillip and his wife, Joy of Muscatine. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence and John.
