Constance Annie (Clarke) Mcdonald was born in 1886 to Alfred Clarke and Rebecca Clarke ( Tomlinson, and had a brother William Alfred Clarke. She was in a relationship with Archibald George McDonald, and had a child Florence Ada Chettle ( McDonald. Constance Mcdonald died at age 77 years old in 1963.

In 1886, in the year that Constance Annie McDonald ( Clarke was born, on October 28th, President Grover Cleveland officially dedicated the Statue of Liberty. A gift from France, the base for the statue had been built using donations from the American public. The unplanned but enthusiastic celebration after the dedication led to the first ticker tape parade.

In 1919, at the age of 33 years old, Constance was alive when Indian lawyer Mahatma Gandhi initiated the Satyagraha campaigns, beginning the nonviolent resistance movement against British rule of India.
