She flew over 2,000 miles in just under 15 hours.

In 1949, by the time she was 17 years old, comedian Milton Berle hosted the first telethon show. It raised $1,100,000 for cancer research and lasted 16 hours. The next day, newspapers, in writing about the event, first used the word "telethon."

In 1958, when she was 26 years old, on March 24th, Elvis Presley was inducted into the United States Army. Although he could have served in Special Services as an entertainer, he chose to become a regular soldier. Almost everyone thought it would be the end of his career - it wasn't.

Rowling, at the time of the first book a poor single mother, has become a multi-billionaire.
